Acharya Christie Cashman is a senior teacher in the Shambhala Bhuddist tradition. She met Tibetan meditation master Chogyam Trungpa, Rinpoche in 1971, and dedicated herself to intensive study and practice. Eventually, she entered the teaching path, and has taught a full range of courses, from introductory meditation intensives at Naropa University to Vajrayana sadhana classes and Shambhala Training levels. For many years she taught at the 3-month Vajradhatu Seminary, working closely with Trungpa, Rinpoche on curriculum design and implementation. Acharya Cashman moved to Nova Scotia in 1987, and in subsequent years has taught at several Warrior and Kalapa Assemblies. From 1999 to 2003 she served as international Executive Director of Shambhala Training. Today she continues to engage in Shambhala and Buddhist curriculum development and training of teachers. Acharya Cashman and her husband live in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
