I longed for change that encouraged peace and held sanity as a standard; I needed the skills to better understand and appreciate the predicaments of my life. In that same year, I was introduced to the Shambhala teachings of Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche, and immediately began a meditation practice and study of the Shambhala teachings. I served in various administrative positions with the Shambhala Training Executive committee in Austin, TX and served as Resident Director for 5 years. I became a Director of Shambhala Training in 2001, and have been teaching the Heart of Warriorship and Sacred Path Shambhala Training levels since then. Through the years, I have been fortunate to provide service to many distinguished teachers and Rinpoches in the Shambhala community. In 2001, I served as Head of Service at the Conference Center Restaurant during the Stupa consecration at Shambhala Mountain Center in Colorado and coordinated meal services for many esteemed lamas and Rinpoches. I have also served as Head of Household for Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche in Austin, TX. 1990 was a grand year for me. I also began to study/ practice Ikebana with a Sogetsu master from Japan. After 10 years of individual study with my teacher, Fumiyo Matsumoto, I was authorized to teach Ikebana in 2000. I continue to practice and teach this art of contemplative floral arrangement. I offer classes and programs throughout the Shambhala community. I enjoy a private psychotherapy practice with adults, children, adolescents and families. I am an avid gardner, birdwatcher, and environmentalist. I found the changes that I longed for.
