Phoenix Dharma Punx
(Not a Shambhala Based Program)

DHARMA PUNX- TUESDAY NIGHTS 8:30PM -?? AT THE PHOENIX SHAMBHALA CENTER
Dharma Punx is derived from the name of the best selling novel DHARMA PUNX written by Noah Levine, son of renowned Buddhist author Stephen Levine. Noah Levine was a punk rocker, skateboarder, and self destructionist that was rebelling against everything from his parents to the government but mostly himself. When Noah was locked-up in a detention center as a teenager, he spoke with his father on the phone and his father taught him a few basic meditation techniques that completely altered the course of Noah’s life. Noah Levine is the founder of AGAINST THE STREAM MEDITATION SOCIETY in Santa Monica, CA and has also published another best selling book titled Against the Stream. Noah reaches out to a younger generation of people that are looking to simply get free through meditation and the Dharma. Dharma Punx groups have begun to spread through out the entire world. In this tradition was born the PHX DHARMA PUNX.
Tuesday nights we will have a 30-45 minute sitting meditation session followed by tea and a Dharma talk. Everyone is welcome! From first timers to oldest Bhikkus! Meditation instruction can be given if needed. Come learn about the Dharma and be part of this new and energetic Sangha! Donations are always appreciated but never required!
